Hi, I'm Nefertiti, the founder of Empowered Prep Academy, a microschool in Jackson, MS. My journey into education began when I was just a little girl — my dream has always been to be an educator and make learning fun! I have dedicated over 24 years to education, serving as a General and Special Education Teacher, Reading Interventionist, and Reading and Dyslexia Specialist for grades K-12. I am passionate about education and community empowerment. I have founded organizations dedicated to education and dyslexia awareness, striving to equip others with knowledge that creates lasting impact. Two of my amazing daughters have dyslexia and our educational journey with traditional schooling has presented some challenges. I have homeschooled 3 of my kids for several years now and here we are, determined to create a nurturing environment for my family and families like ours. I embarked on the exciting journey of opening a flexible microschool to support families who are looking for a change in education. My heart is filled with excitement as I look forward to partnering with families in our community!
